Year 6 Transition

Dear Parent/Carer

We are looking forward to meeting your son/daughter at our two induction days on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th July 2017

We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Banbury Academy and will be hosting a Parents evening on Tuesday 4th July at 6.00pm (refreshments will be available in our Buttery from 5.30pm).  This will be an opportunity to meet your son’s/daughter’s Head of College and receive further information about September.  We will also have a stall manned by Cross Embroidery who can advise about school uniform for your child.

Please find a Welcome booklet with information that we will require before your child begins with us in September.  Please return the booklet  and Secondary School Entry Health Review Questionnaire to Reception marked for the attention of Mrs Tina Timms by Tuesday 27th June 2017.

Monday 3rd July: Students arrive at Banbury in their current school uniform at 9.00am.  They are to be registered in Wykham Hall and signs and staff will be on hand to direct them there.  They will be placed into their college that they will be in for September and will spend the day getting to know the other year seven students in their college.  Activities include a tour of the school; team building and some fun sports so please ensure that your child has a pair of trainers with them.  The day will end at 2.45pm.  If you wish your child to remain in school to head home with a sibling currently here then they will remain in Wykham Hall.

Tuesday 4th July:  Students arrive at Banbury exactly the same as on the Monday and register at 9.00am in Wykham Hall.  They will get a chance to experience school life at Banbury Academy.   Once again we will finish at 2.45pm and will hold students in Wykham Hall until they are collected by a sibling.

For both days students will need to bring in a snack for break time and a drink (no fizzy pop), lunch will be provided on both days.  As the first day involves sports outdoors, please also ensure your child has a drink and protection from the sun (fingers crossed).

If you have any queries about the day then please contact Mrs Tina Timms on 01295 251451 extn. 127.

Yours faithfully
