  • You need to be a member of Oxfordshire libraries to access these – you just need your library membership number - the nine-digit number without spaces
  • If you are not a member you can join Oxfordshire libraries on-line –and it’s free
  • You can also search the Oxfordshire Libraries catalogue
  • Under 18’s can request books from anywhere in the county free- no charge!

British Library Newspapers Collection

  • 71 local and national papers from the nineteenth century. Fascinating, easy to use and great source of historical information for all subjects, not just history!

Credo Reference

  • 150 reference books which can be easily searched to help you with the answers you are looking for. Great for all subjects

Grove Art Online

  • Thousands of pages of information about art, artists together with images of many artworks.

Grove Music Online

  • Information on classical music, world music, pop & jazz

UK Newsstand

  • Articles from the national and regional daily and Sunday papers. Updated daily. Very useful for all subjects

Oxford Dictionary of National Biography

  • 55,000 biographies of British people (who have died). Very useful for all subjects

Oxford English Dictionary

  • The definitive dictionary of the English language.

Oxford Reference Online Premium

Times Digital Archive 1785-1985

With more than 60 topics to choose from, 'Issues Online' provides a wide range of information including: articles with news and views on each topic, key facts, key statistics, and other reference sites.
