Rugby

Year 7 Rugby: Match report Tuesday 27 September
Banbury had a balanced game against NOA Year 7s. They hadn’t played together much and only a few played outside of school. Despite this the team made some outstanding tackles. Specific people who made great tackles included Aaron Speke and Harry Allard. Some great carries were made from Toby and Jaden. Brilliant kicks came from Ben Lally to clear the danger. Harry Allard was the one to score all 3 of our tries – scoring a hat-trick and leaving the game at 3-2 for our first win as a team.

Year 8 Rugby: Match report Wednesday 28 September
Banbury dramatically improved their performance to play their game against NOA. Despite their team consisting entirely of Year 8s, (and particularly large ones too!) our Year 7s and 8s chopped them down and pressured them to win the ball. They attacked with speed and power, scoring a whopping 7 tries to 0! Adam and Jaden scored a hat-trick each, with Aaron Speke scoring a brilliant try down the right wing. Tackles were amazing and consistent and NOA just couldn’t break through our defence. Overall a terrific game from Banbury
