Year 12:  1 Level 2 Qualification + Sports or Arts Award + English &/or Maths GCSE + Aspirations Employability Portfolio + Learning for Life

The First Year (The foundation Year)
The first year of the programme is designed to enable students to gain the qualifications and skills needed to progress to Level 3 qualifications in years 2 and 3.

Students will study English and Maths GCSE and a specifically designed pathway of either Health and Social Care or Business- in order to prepare for A Level study or an apprenticeship. As well as participating in study lectures, university workshops and engagement experiences, students will have the opportunity to gain work related experience on and off campus.
In the first year of the programme students opt for one of two Level 2 Technical Pathways chosen from:

  • Business
  • Health and Social Care

This is combined with a choice of either Arts Award or Sports Award.

In addition all students participate in the unique Aspirations Employability Portfolio.

Information for all Level 2 subjects is available in our Level 2 Course Booklet

Successful completion of the first year enables a clear route to Year 2 and 3 studies.

The Second and Third Year (Year 12 and 13)
Students progressing to the second and third year will study Three Level 3 qualifications either from the technical courses on offer or as a mix of technical and A level.

In addition they will continue with the Aspirations Employability Portfolio in Year 12 and progress to The Extended Project Qualification in Year 13.

The progress of students in both hub schools is overseen by the Mrs Carly Berry Head of Banbury Aspirations Campus Sixth Form.
