Game, set and match!

18 Year 9 and 10 students completed tennis umpiring training at the beginning of May to prepare them for the Banbury Area Mini Red Tennis Festival on 11th May.  The training was run by professional tennis coach, Sam Burke.  She was very impressed by their approach to the training and recommended that some of them take their Level 1 Tennis Coaching qualification.  All the leaders did a fantastic job on the day of the festival, putting their skills to the test and umpiring 115 games between them.  Bishop Loveday Primary school were the eventual winners with The Grange coming in second place and Hillview in third. As a result of their performance at the festival, NOSSP School Games Officer Emma Jackson, has invited the leaders to umpire at the partnership finals later in the month.  Great job!
